The Thermal Merino Rib Crew boasts a new fabric finish from Smartwool, an interlock knit merino wool with a waffle-like texture. The top has a set-in shoulder, long sleeves and a flatlock seam construction that helps prevent chafing. We find this is running a bit on the large side for the brand's base layers (which usually run on the small side!).
